Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Painting/Drawing

The AAS degree in Painting/Drawing is a pre-professional degree program providing the student with the first two years of a four year BFA course of study, and upon graduation with an AAS degree students have the option of entering an arts profession, or applying for transfer into the four year BFA program at Pratt, or another school of choice. The program offers a strong foundation, advanced level art and design courses, as well as a liberal studies component, all combined to create a comprehensive transfer degree.

The faculty for both the AAS and AOS degree programs is comprised of New York’s leading professionals who bring to the classroom, practical professional experience and expertise reflecting the highest standards in their fields. An emphasis on personal attention is a key benefit of this program, assuring that students develop professional skills at their own pace.

Students may attend either full or part-time. Evening classes are available. Financial aid is also available to qualified students

A portfolio review is the primary requirement for entrance, and is an opportunity to discuss not only a student’s work, but also the many career opportunities that are available.
